Remember the Coal

A man dressed as a miner and another man holding a guitar standing in front of a statue.

Remember coal mining?

Come and listen to the story of the mining industry, told in original songs, all written and performed in folk style by Alan Wood, supported with a spoken narrative by (Welsh immigrant) John Snook.

The show highlights the changes that took place in society throughout that period.

Whilst the show will mention the disasters and tragedies that accompanied coal mining, it also has lighter moments and illustrates how mining influenced wider changes within other industries and society.

The performance will take place on the second floor of the Visitor Centre (accessible lifts available). £10 per person. Cash bar available.

Doors open at 6:15pm, with the performance beginning at 7:00pm. Runtime: 90 minutes with an interval.
